Thanks for Life - what a week! 22-25 February 2010.

The local fire eater/juggler helped us set up shop at 4 Bakers Lane on Sunday afternoon and as you can see once the displays were in place they created a lot of interest. Our grateful thanks go to Lichfield Sony Centre who helped us out with the loan of a TV and video system during the four days. If you're gonna have a telly it pays to have the best!

Our thanks also go to the Three Spires Shopping Centre for allowing us to use one of their properties. Without them we could have done nothing and so we owe them an enormous debt.

You can see below how it all unfolded.

Thanks for Life.

Thanks to you.

Tuesday was Thanks for Life Rotary Day and we were joined by the Mayor of Lichfield Councillor Terry Thomas and Lady Mayoress Mrs Penny Thomas. It was great to see them supporting our campaign particularly as the Mayor himself is a Rotarian of many years standing and well aware of what our efforts mean.

Thank you both for your time and for a very entertaining  chat.

Yesterday the Mayor, today the film crew. It's certainly all happening at the shop! The film crew from Lichfield Campus approached us to take part in their Good Samaritan documentary. Not being the sort of people to cross to the other side we readily agreed to get involved and it all fitted in with Thanks for Life. Rotarian Brian Homewood put our side of the story and here he is being interviewed and relaxing with the crew afterwards.

As part of our Thanks for Life activities Steve Cartwright went back to school. Above are some of the year 7 and year 8 students  of RSA Tipton Academy working away at Thanks for Life last Friday 26 February.

Steve gave them both barrells - Rotary and Thanks for Life - probably for about 40 minutes without drawing breath - after which they watched the video and broke up into pairs to do further research.

In a couple of weeks' time we hope to have a copy of the book being put together by the students which will be going on sale to raise money for Thanks for Life.
