The first weekend in July - every year!
A date for your diary
To you and me this may
just look like any ordinary park on an autumnal day. Kids playing on the swings, a couple of footy matches going on and the
odd dog walker circling the lake. To Rotarian Ian Hodgson though it is an arena and an opportunity to showcase one of the
most prestigious events in the classic car calendar - Cars In The Park. Some 15 years ago Ian saw the potential of Beacon
Park as the backdrop to a major modern motoring and classic car event.
An event like no other
that brings people to beautiful Beacon Park, to the Cathedral City of Lichfield and an event that has raised many thousands
of pounds for Rotary charities at home and overseas. Every penny raised goes to good causes and whilst Cars In The
Park is a mecca for car enthusiats it is now also a great week end for all the family.
The event is
organised by The Rotary Club of Lichfield St. Chad - with the help of our friends at neigbouring Rotary Clubs - and we would
like to take this opportunity to invite you to next year's event. Full details are on the main Cars In The Park website
including photos of past events and news about next year's plans.
We would also like to thank those of
you who attended the event this year - the dealers who continue to support us despite the harsh economic times, the individuals
who come year after year - from all over the UK and beyond - to show off their own pride and joy and, of course, the
people of Lichfield who never fail to turn out (whatever the weather!) to support us in our efforts. Many of you return
time and again to see the cars, browse the auto jumbler stalls, soak up the atmosphere of the arena displays and even have
time for a short stroll into Lichfield. This year saw many more campers than in previous years and we hope that trend
will continue.
Whatever your reason for visiting the show you all have one thing in common and that is your unfailing
entusiasm for Cars In the Park. "See you next year" is the phrase we hear most as you leave the showground erhmm...
park!
